Perhaps the hand keeps writing because hope often survives long after certainty has disappeared. I especially appreciated the quiet strength of that recurring image. Thank you for this thoughtful poem.
I have no idea why the hand keeps writing, but definitely wanted to document the strength of the link between a writer's belief that they have the power to change things, and their ability to actually write. Writers need encouragement, but they also need to see their work affecting people and things, however minutely. Or else all becomes futile.
I wasn't born as the kind of person the surrounding world was particularly eager to listen to. And so far, nothing I've done or written has really changed that very much. But I appreciate the comments, and various other tokens of support, immensely!
Your reply stayed with me. I think many of us who write quietly carry the same question: has any of this truly mattered? I’ve come to believe that we rarely get to witness the full journey of our words. They often continue walking long after they’ve left us. Sometimes they become part of a thought, a decision, or even a small act of hope in someone we’ll never meet. That possibility has become enough for me to keep writing. Thank you for your honesty.

That was beautifully put, Antonio! The thought is already starting to calm me.
This is a really great pace Raf
Totally loved it.
Thanks so much, Lawrence! Many of my other pieces are quite a bit better, so keep reading if you don't want to miss out.
I'm going anywhere Rafa.
